Matterhorn Project at Basel Funfair

 In Blog2

While strolling through Basel’s yearly funfair, always happening from October to November for two weeks since 1471 and always attracting large crowds, I discovered the cover picture of my 2007 Matterhorn Project CD MOO! – it was airbrushed to the side of Swiss Tower, the largest mobile freefall tower in the world where people are transported to a height of 80m and then go down in free fall, reaching a speed of 100km/h.

The artist who copied my Matterhorn Project cover was so kind leave the Matterhorn Project lettering in his version of the picture. The original artist had been Simon Inäbnit, a local cartoon and comics draftsman.

The MOO! maxi single CD release of 2007 contains a remix of the original hit single MUH! from 1985 and an additional “Swiss Chalet Remix” done together with Swiss DJ Tony White who sadly died three years ago. While the original MUH! has a triplet rhythm, the 2007 remix has a straight 16th four quarters groove.

The freefall tower has been sold to Hongkong…
